Designated Employer Representative (DER) Training
Course Information: As the Designated Employer Representative (DER) in your organization, you and the Alternative DER have tremendous responsibility according to DOT regulations. These include ensuring that all aspects of your employer’s mandatory drug and alcohol testing program are properly administered in accordance with extensive and complex DOT regulations, operator contractual requirements, and internal company standards. While you may hire Service Agents (MROs, collectors, SAPs, TPAs, etc.) to assist you, by DOT regulations and operator standards your employer is ultimately responsible for meeting all applicable requirements and procedures. Additionally, your employer is by regulation and contractual obligation responsible for all actions of Service Agents you may hire and is subject to DOT sanctions for their non-compliance. This course will help you better understand your responsibilities and expand your knowledge to your requirements as an organization.
